Finland: the Archipelago Trail Finland has the largest archipelago in the world.  Follow this trail via road, bridges and ferry to see old wooden houses, lighthouses, old buildings and spectacular scenery. You can explore other islands by sea taxi. There are over 20,000 islands in the Turku archipelago. The Finnish Tourist Board offer a free touring map.  See it here The trail starts in the city of Turku and you travel about 250kms if you want to complete the full route.  You can comfortable travel the trail from the end of May to the end of August.  It is open in the winter months too but you may have to back-track on some legs.
