How much does it cost to rent a campervan in Iceland?

Good First Question! It's what we are always asked. The answer is, "It depends"

The cost of renting a campervan or motorhome or 4x4 camper depends on when you want to rent it.

Peak season in Iceland is June, July and August. If you book late during these times then you will pay the most for your camper.

The size of the campervan also determines how much you pay. Large 6 berth motorhomes that are under 2 years old will demand a higher price than a small camping car. Check out the booking engine and see the exact costs.

When is the best time to visit Iceland for a road trip?

The weather is calmest between May and September but be prepared for very rough weather too.

Always make sure you have a full tank of fuel and food and water with you in case you have to stay in one place until the weather improves.

How long does it take to drive around Iceland?

The road around Iceland is 1333 kms long so it would take a couple of days to drive right around at a safe speed. If you want to make a holiday and have time to take in the extraordinary views and spectacular scenery then allow a week.

Your journey and ability to drive daily will strongly depend on the weather conditions. In winter you may not be able to drive at all on some days where the wind is very high and the snow and ice block the roads.
