A United Campervans Directors' guarantee that the vehicle will be no older than
three years
New Zealand Tourism's official "Qualmark" endorsement - a guarantee
of vehicle quality and service

Daily Hire Charges
The daily hire charges include unlimited kilometres, and GST (12.5%) charges.
All charges are calculated on a daily basis, not a twenty-four hour day. Vehicles
are available at 8.00 am on the day you commence your hire and must be returned
by 4.30 pm at termination unless prior arrangements are made.
Insurance
Standard insurance is included in the daily hire charge and covers
third party property and public liability to NZ$5,000,000. However it is still
advised to take out travel insurance which covers the excess and personal
property. The hirer is liable for the first NZ$5000.00 of any damage caused
in any one accident. The bond paid at the commencement of the hire is to
cover this.
Bond/Excess
All hirers must pay a bond of NZ$5000
at the commencement of hire. This bond is fully refundable if the vehicle has
not been involved in an accident and is returned in a reasonably clean and
undamaged condition. The hirer will be fully liable for the repair or replacement
of damaged windscreens and tyres. The Bond excess may be paid by cash/travellers
cheques/credit card. If credit cards are used $5000 will be deducted immediately.
To reduce the Bond/Excess:
CDW (1) NZ$20 per day (max NZ$1200 for any one hire) reduces excess to NZ$1200 (NZ$2400 if under 21). No cover to tyres or windscreen. The amount is deducted from your credit card.
CDW(2) NZ$32 per day (max NZ$1920 for any one hire) or NZ$44 per day for under 25's reduces the excess to 0 and also covers windscreen but not tyres. Only a credit card swipe for $100 will be taken.
Hire Periods and One Way Hires
For all rental vehicles there is a minimum period of seven (7) days. It is possible
to commence your hire in Christchurch and finish it in Auckland (or vice versa)
at no extra charge if the rental period is a minimum of fourteen (14) days.
Refunds
Regretfully no refunds can be given for any unused portion of your holiday.
However your travel insurance may cover the unused portion. Refunds for hires
paid and cancelled prior to pick up will be subject to our cancellation policy.
Fuel
All vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel at the start of the hire,
and must be returned with a full tank at the end of your hire.
Vehicle Substitution and Design
We shall make every effort to provide the vehicle you requested but where a
vehicle is unavailable for any reason we reserve the right to provide a comparably
high standard vehicle at no extra cost to you. While including the same facilities,
vehicle layouts may vary slightly to those shown due to manufacturer design
changes.
Drivers Requirements and License
All drivers must be 21 years of age or older and hold a current valid drivers
license, to be produced at the start of the hire. An international or country
of origin license is acceptable. No special license is required to drive campavans
in New Zealand.
Transfers
United uses taxis and shuttles as the preferred method of transfer. This allows
you to transfer at your convenience. The transfer on vehicle pick up is complimentary.
The transfer at the end of the hire is at the cost of the hirer.
Cancellations, Transfers & Amendments
Cancellation fees are as follows:
29 days and over $100 retained
20 - 28 days 20 %
10 - 19 days 40 % of total reservation cost
1 - 9 days 75 % of total reservation cost
No Show 100 % of total reservation cost
Once a booking has been confirmed the booking is considered
live and is subject to the cancellation policy. Transferring a booking, once
confirmed will incur a NZ$ 25.00 fee unless it is within 30 days of travel,
when the above cancellation charges apply. A booking can only be transferred
to a maximum of 6 month before or after the original date of travel.
Amendments to increase the length of the booking can be made at no cost.
Amendments to decrease the booking will be charged at a minimum of NZ$ 25.00
provided the amendments occur at least 30 days prior to departure date. It is
important to note that United may at it' s discretion treat any amendment to
decrease the booking as a cancellation.
